An approximated crowd of 40,000 came down on this beachfront neighborhood for a weekend of fun in the sun, and the weather condition could not have been much better. With temperature levels in the low 80’s, beachgoers got here early to romp in the sand and browse while viewing the kids and the pros destroy our little but happy 2-3 footers in the Aqua East Surfing the Blues Contest.
Beginning the celebrations at 5 pm on Friday was Regi Blue, followed by Sean Costello and Shane Dwight, thrilling the audience with their mix of standard blues and jazz favorites. Friday’s headliner was The Howl, a wailing blues band from Boston Ma.
After hour’s jam sessions throughout the street at the Seawalk Hotel, and the Atlantic Theatres all the way in Atlantic Beach kept Blues enthusiasts enjoying it till the wee hours. At Freebird Live, artists carried out in an intimate performance setting each night, topping it off with among Jacksonville’s preferred bands, Mofro on Sunday night.
At the western edge of the celebration premises, surrounded by kids leaping around on inflatables, bungi leaping and rock climbing, artists that had simply or were going to carry out on the primary phase, used the west phase to obtain up close and personal. Eric Steckel happy fans on Saturday with an “unplugged” variation of his most current and biggest. Returning from in 2015, the ever popular Yo Mamma’s Big Fat Booty Band got things moving with their vibrant clothes options and distinct musical design and showmanship. The Eric Steckel Band, including fifteen years of age “Blues Boy Wonder” Eric Steckel, took the phase at 5:30 showcasing this person’s fantastic skill and existence on phase. Closing out this year’s Springing the Blues Festival, was Blues terrific Lee Roy Parnell, laying it back with the custom of what the Blues is everything about.
